Shopping is so exhausting. But it’s worth it when you get new things, and I did :) . Myers was pretty disappointing, I like the city store much more than the one at Carindale. For some reason it’s so much easier to find things at the city store. Everything’s easier to find in the city… I think it’s because I’m in there so often (is every day often?) and usually go to the same stores.

We went out to see Nathan, Lauren & Simone’s house today. It’s going to look really good once they do it up… The backyard is huge! So cool. I don’t understand why they want to make a new laundry upstairs though, because the one downstairs is good, and how often do you use the laundry anyways? It’s better to have the washing machine somewhere away from the main areas of the house where people will be doing concentrating things like reading, listening to music, watching tv… Also there is a macadamia tree next door that drops macadamia nuts onto their lawn. Nathan was smashing them open with a brick, and giving them to us to eat. Mum got some that had gone goopy inside, but I was lucky because every one that i got was good :)

I wonder how tonight will go… Kirra got Penny a gift cert for something… can’t remember what, but I will put money in for that tonight. It will be weird to meet Brett & Clinton, and all Penny’s friends.

Mel will be there though, and maybe Kathryn too, so that should be good. Apparently I missed out on all the hilarity last weekend because just after I left to go to the restaurant, Kathryn showed up and she’d been drinking since 4pm, having had nothing to eat but muscles at lunchtime. lol. I wish I could have seen that. But I don’t think I would have been in any position to be recognising the drunken state of others in my own state of intoxication. Tonight hopefully I get to go to Chris’s party after Penny’s. I don’t know how I’ll get there though… taxi maybe? It’s all the way over at New Farm. But it should be fun and I haven’t seen him in ages.

Soooooo… lol i just realised that i’ve been messing up a saying this entire time. Oh. haha.

This Grates album is awesome. And I’m not just saying that to be super-supportive because we are friends with them. It really is a good album. So I don’t want anyone thinking that I like their music just because we’re friends, I like their music on its own merits. Because it’s good. I was so excited that they played 19 20 20 at 299 last night! That was so much fun.

Songs that were good to dance to:

* 192020 – The Grates (Grrr grr!)
* Blister in the sun – Violent Femmes

I have a hazy memory of last night. I just remembered that they often played lots of emo music that wasn’t that good to dance to. And the songs kind of merged together because they all sounded the same.

Stupid emo music. When we got home, rage was on and Dresden Dolls were the guest progammers, so there was even more emo music (Panic! At the disco was a dubious highlight.. as was The Used… Listen kids, can you hear that? It’s the worlds tiniest violin playing the worlds saddest song just for you!)

I wanna go back there! It was so much fun! Me & Noelle may go there this Saturday because I’m having a sleepover at her place since mum’s having a party that night and I already decided I’d rather not be here for it. So I’ll stay over at Noe’s place. Then the next week after that, I have like.. six days off in a row ;) woot! I’ll be in Townsville then. I really want to go out to Broadwater, but I don’t think there is any way of getting out there. Noelle will know more about it. It seems a shame not to go out there when I’ve already gone all the way to Townsville and it’s like three days drive. Or an hour & a half by plane. It will be Rosie’s very first plane trip. I wonder if she’ll be scared? I can’t remember being scared the very first time I went on an aeroplane. Lauren and I were going by ourselves, and we had to wear tags that said “unaccompanied minor” or UM for short. Dad wanted to write “D” in front of the UM. lol nice. But yeah, it was all a bit of a novelty, and not frightening really. But the first time i went on a plane in about four years was this year, and I was sort of apprehensive about it. I’m not sure why. I kept opening and closing the blinds on the window until Lauren got irritated and told me to stop. Anyway. looks like it might rain today, which is always good. I hope it does.

It’s always dangerous when relatives come over and play with the fridge magnets.

House is nice when it’s clean.

The guy wearing a dress at the RSL. I took a sneaky photo of him and then ran from the club cackling maniacally.

I’m not actually crying. I don’t even know if my playstation is dead. But I sort of think it might be, because it thinks that it can’t read any discs that I put in there. I think it’s just not trying hard enough. You can do it little PS2!!! If you believe in yourself, you can do it!

So anyway, I was going to watch a movie but now I can’t, and I shall just have to sit here and be bored. Work today was good because I got to finish early (I still have to make the time up somehow) and also because I was doing the easy, repetitive task-based job today. It’s nice to have a break. Work was also bad because I had an argument with someone, which really just involved me going quiet and looking unimpressed until they went away. Good. Until Kirra came back from lunch, then I wasn’t so quiet. We had funny email wars today with Chris. I can’t remember what they were about, but they were funny.

We’ve got Penny’s engagement party tomorrow night and I still don’t know what I’m wearing, because if I go to Chris’s party afterwards (there’s every chance that I will) then everyone will probably be going out after that, so I need to wear something engagement-party-ish, but also going-out-in-the-valley-ish. I could go shopping tomorrow morning but I think I want to sleep in.

Rosie called me today and said, “I’ve got to catch the bus today from the transit centre, but I don’t know where that is!” and so I tried explaining it to her, but I could tell she didn’t get it. But she ended up finding out that the train that goes from our place, while not going straight to Roma Street, has a connecting line at Central and so she could get off at the transit centre and didn’t have to walk there after all. I couldn’t believe she didn’t know where the transit centre was, I mean, she’s caught the bus home before! Who doesn’t know where Roma St Station is? She’s got another two hours on the bus before she gets there (i think), so hopefully they play a good movie or something to keep her entertained.

Dad called me today just to tell me that we know the two people who are this year’s big brothers biggest secret… How annoying. It seems like the less you watch a show the more you know about it. If this rule is true, I must know EVERYTHING about Big Brother since I never watch it. And people are asking me questions about it! Apparently we know the mother/daughter pair who are in the house. They got boob jobs together. As Noelle said, there has to be something seriously wrong with their relationship. Dad said “yeah, they were really nice girls” Suuuuuure dad, and Hitler was a saint. So, it seems like my whole plan not to watch big brother isn’t working. There’s just no way for me not to know about it. The universe is conspiring against me :-/

Today was a good day at work. I’ve been loaned to another team for a while, doing some different work, and it’s nice to have a break, especially when we’ve been so busy. Kirra and I went shopping at City Beach… they have some nice stuff at the moment! Then Kirra went to Supre and I went all the way down to MacArthur to find that the shop I needed to go to didn’t exist anymore! Well, actually it does exist, but not at Post Office Square. It’s moved to Creek Street, and I was already on borrowed time so I had to go back to work.

So anyways, tomorrow is Friday woot! the weekend is looking pretty hectic. I’ve got Penny’s engagement party on Saturday night, and Chris’s housewarming is on Saturday night too. Sunday I guess I recover, then Monday I go back to work while everyone has a day off. But Noelle and I are going to see American Dreamz (wow catchy title) on monday afternoon when I get off work.

Anyway, I’m bored so I’m going to go watch a DVD or something.

Photos from work today:

The skeleton sitting above my desk. He’s wasted here, because he does glow in the dark and it’s never dark. But maybe he scares the cleaners or something when they turn out the lights when they leave

The Oscar that Kathryn & I won that Kirra dressed up as me… see the glasses and the hair? Probably not. lol.

kip.jpg
Kip. Sitting on my desk and making things look even more messy than they already do. He says “Don’t be jealous that I’ve been chatting online with babes all day”; “I’m training to become a cage fighter”; and “peace out.”

Everyone’s watching big brother. Eugh I hate Big Brother! I saw the pictures they drew of themselves on the big brother website (yeah, what the hell was I doing looking at the big brother website when I hate it so much?!) and not one of them can draw! That’s dumb. They should choose at least one artistic person.

My back is really hurting at the moment. It feels like the bones aren’t being held together by anything, and if I turn around or lean back or forwards, my spine will break apart at the fracture and I’ll fall to the ground and just be in two pieces. The bones feel really weak and it’s very painful :( i’m going to the doctor next week so I’ll ask for a referral to get more x-rays done. In the meantime, I’m afraid.

These are some good things, separated into the people they belong to (in no particular order):

Noelle: she is effervescent, happy, beautiful, FUN! She knows all the best Napoleon, SuperTroopers & Jack Handey quotes, plus some others that we made up :D
Rosie: She has zero tact, and can wear her pjyamas down to the store. Woot! Also she swears a lot, which I pretend to hate but find secretly amusing.
Lauren: She has a perfect tone of voice and facial expressions for telling secrets. She is incredibly creative with a high degree of talent ;)
Nathan: he is made of angles and has buddy holly glasses. He introduces me to all my favourite bands. He knows a lot of random things.
John: His grandma called him just to tell him that he looked like Chris Rock, only white. His mannerisms are hilariously endearing :)
Kirra: She is an awesome human being. She buys great presents. She cries when she laughs, and has a mean V addiction ;)
Chris I: he’s not afraid to admit to following what could be considered nerdy pursuits. He likes Tim Burton and has Star Wars action figures.
Robert: Is generous and reliable, not to mention laugh-out-loud funny. He also looks like a CGI character :D and answers all my stupid questions, and introduced me to angry german kid (LOL!)
Clare: She’s passionate & idealistic. Sometimes overzealous, but always with her heart in the right place.
Chris R: He’s like a recurring dream… every so often he just appears in a whirl of parties and craziness then slowly fades back into the woodwork.
Maria: worked with really odd people, and can do unreal impersonations.
Patience: She’s crazy, hyperactive and a grate singer (get it? haha! boom tish!)
The people across the road: sing loudly and off-tune to some music I didn’t know existed, and prevent me from being able to concentrate on this blog entry. Come to think of it, that’s not such a good thing.

Sorry everyone else who was not included on this because of the terrible noise coming from the house across the road, I love you all!

My left arm has a bruise on the shoulder that hasn’t come up yet, that i’m assuming is something i’ve done when i was drunk. But I didn’t know it was there until dad hit me on the shoulder at dinner tonight.

Dinner was good. Rosie started off angry & emo but then warmed to us and by the end of the meal she was actually laughing along with the rest of us, especially after Noelle told the fishface story.

hahahahaha

I can hear some guy yelling across the road. It was sounding like they were having a party earlier, but now someone sounds angry and sarcastic. Well, it’s all fun & games until someone loses an eye isn’t it??

I had fun tonight. I had a good day today.

Oooooops i’m supposed to have vegemite toast so i don’t get sick tomorrow! haha!

Ok. I should go do that.

*Edit* Btw, my room is now clean and no longer looks like a shanty ;)
Also, I realised that the reason Myspace is telling me that I”m 23 is probably because Rosie input my age as 23 when she was changing settings… So therefore, it is Rosie who is trying to burst my bubble.

*/Edit*

I just read the little summary of me on my blog. It says that I am 23. Way to go Myspace, just plough right through the anticipation and excitement that impending birthdays bring! FYI, I am not 23 yet. Gimme a few more days (four more days to be exact, depending on whether you count the actual day of my birthday [I don’t]).

I’ve had a day filled to the brim with electronic materialistic bliss. First of all, I got a new laser printer (black & white because I am povvo). Then I got a new keyboard (to plug into my laptop because I hate not having a numerical keypad, and also sometimes my spacebar sticks and it’s not very responsive) and then when I got home, what was waiting for me? The replacement for my camera which was stolen by some stupid gypo in Rome. It’s so AWESOME! 7.1MP :) I love insurance. I mean, getting things stolen is horrible, but the good part about it is when you get it replaced by the insurance, they take the original price you paid for it and give you a replacement based on warehouse price, not retail! woot. Well. Maybe I’ve just been lucky.

Anyway, the downside to all this happiness was that I had to walk past the emos in the square like ten million times today. First on my way to the city for lunch, then on my way back to work from lunch, then on my way to the gym, then on my way back from the gym, then on my way to officeworks, then on my way back from officeworks. They’re so boring and predictable. OOh look at me! i can jump off a ledge on my skateboard, but can’t land!

Another good thing about today: opening day for the gym at it’s new location. And they have all nice new machines too! The bikes have little screens on them to make you feel like you’re riding on a track or something… I don’t know, I haven’t actually used them yet. But they’ve got some music channel on Fox up on the big screen, and it plays good songs, not the usual rap/hiphop/rnb/pop garbage they played from their dvd collection before. I’m so happy. It doesn’t matter since I have my Iriver anyway, but if they’re playing songs that I like then I can see the film clip as well, and have something to look at not just listen to.

Things that I have that would have made me jealous of myself a year ago:

Laptop
Flatscreen TV
PS2
DVD player
laser printer
Digital Camera
GHD
Iriver

Yay. I’m living beyond my means! woot! that was sarcasm btw.

I’m having too much fun typing on this keyboard. It’s so smooth and nice… ok. I’m going. now.

“Do you have anything? To make my room more of a room than a shanty?”

That’s a quote from Rosie.

Now she’s going through my things. GOSH.

It’s not like my room doesn’t look like a shanty as well…

I was going to have cereal for dinner, and I poured some into a bowl, and there was an ant there. So I thought “guh! there’s ants in this bowl!” so I poured it into another bowl. And there was ants in there too. And I looked in the box, and there were ANTS!! Ants in my cereal that I just had some of for breakfast this morning! I wonder if I ate an ant. YUCK! Ants are disgusting. They stink if you squash one of them.

Work tomorrow. It’s a short week (4 day week! Woohoo!) and then it’s my birthday! Yay! Only three days of work clothes YAY! Friday is civvies day. I hate work clothes.

This entry is dedicated to poor little emo kids. Not in it’s entirety, just the title (the contents are all MINE! MINE MINE MINE!).

We saw Scary Movie 4 yesterday. The president’s speech was so funny. I really want either an MP3 of it, or a transcripted passage. The transcription would be better, seeing it down on the page without tone or inflection would be even funnier. It would be cold and unemotional, which the delivery was anyway, but even more so. Tomorrow it is back to work for meeeee. But at the end of that very short week it shall be….

*drumroll*

My birthday!

Yippee.

Plans have changed due to circumstances beyond my control. I’m not going to list them as being realistic would only prolong the mood I am currently in.

Why is everyone being so dumb at the moment?

No, not you Lauren & Nathan, or Noelle or Anna or Clare for that matter. Actually, it’s really not everyone, just a few select people. Or just a couple of select people. There. That’s two. Two is specific enough, I’ll not elaborate further.

We were watching the movie of the family guy last night. I love Stewie. I missed the American Office! Gah! Due to my own sleepiness. And Futurama was funny too… “Hey, look, it’s that guy that you are!” haha. Wow. I actually watched TV tonight. Don’t worry my dears, it won’t happen again! until next time that I just happen to be in front of the television with nothing to do when one of the few awesome shows that are broadcast on free-to-air television is on. And then i will watch.

Anyway. BYE EVERYONE! Especially those being dumb right now. GET WITH THE PROGRAM, WOULD YA?!
