A little metal box under the stars

We went out to Cleveland today to visit nathan’s house. it was a nice place, the dining room/kitchen/balcony on the second floor were beautiful. They have a humongous TV… Rosie was especially jealous because they have Pay TV, but i could take it or leave it. It doesn’t really mean that much to me. Probably the only shows I make a point of watching are House (We Can Be Heros also, which sucks because they’re on at conflicting times), Lost (after this week won’t even be an issue because it’s over anyway. Plus i already know everything that happens from the episode synopses on the internet), ummmmmmmmmmmm not really sure of anything else. Otherwise it’s just a case of if i’m home then i might watch tv, but i am often doing other things during prime time. I was really disappointed when they took off NCIS. That was probably the only other show i would actually make sure i was home to watch. Whatever happened to shows like Earth 2, Seaquest, Dark Angel… Whenever the tv stations get anything with any imagination, out it goes to be replaced by the same old crap. And don’t even get me started on the unbelievable level of opportunistic terror-mongering that the new series of 24 reached. Crappy acting and poorly-disguised propaganda for the current social climate? Serve me up a dish of that! And then watch me vomit all over it.

On to better things… I saw a preview for Howl’s Moving Castle, had Rosie whispering in my ear “That witch is exactly the same as the one from Spirited Away!” Yeah but she’s not a witch, Einstein, she’s just an old woman. I think the fact that anime characters don’t differ that much one to the other has been waxed over many, many times before, in great detail, by people who actually take greater interest in the subject matter and would therefore have a more informed opinion. I have been trying to get a copy of Laputa: Castle in the sky  for a while now. I checked out HMV online and they CLAIM to have it, but then i go into the store and there’s none on the shelves. It was a good waste of time, so i don’t really mind, but i did really want to see it. I want to get the whole set. I’ve already seen Grave of the Fireflies, and that’s the only one I’ve seen that I don’t already own. I cried so much in that movie. WAAAAAAAAAH Whack a few cuts on my wrist and call me an emo (oops! been there, done that!)

I’m reading I have a bed made of buttermilk pancakes for the second time, and I really like it. I mean, i liked it the first time, but I like it just as much now. I can feel myself thinking in the language of the book, which usually happens when i really get into something i’m reading. It’s so sweet. Next I’ll be reading The Gathering again, which i read a couple of times in high school but haven’t seen since.

THere’s a few other books i want to get, which i saw when i was wandering around Borders on Saturday, but they’ll have to wait for another month or so. Maybe when I get my bonus. But then again, that’s all going to go straight onto the holiday. Mum paid for the Airfares, the taxes and the insurance on saturday morning, so now all we have to organise is half the money for the tour, which will be half our trip over there. the other half of the time we’ll be on our own. Noelle and I are going to Denmark to visit Legoland! hopefully. I also want to go to russia for cheap things, but i think you still need to get a visa to visit there.

ANYWAY shouldn’t stay up too late tonight, i haven’t been feeling well for the past few days and i have NO sick days left! :(
